Students’ Metacognitive Awareness and Its Impact on Writing Skill

One of the factors that can affect ability to write explanatory text is metacognitive awareness. By using descriptive method, students' level awareness was explained, and by correlational method effect towards writing explained. The results showed as many 25 students had a high while 38 others moderate relationship between variables significant very strong seen from range correlation values, namely 0.812. Metacognitive affects 66% remaining 44% influenced other factors. This shows has an important role in writing. Students must always increase their Efforts be made raise are lecturers carry out learning with cognitive process approach knowledge apply strategies so have skills complete assignments.
